Hi! My name is Shagun Sharma and I am a Registered Psychotherapist. Previous to my current title, I have worked in various positions in the mental health field, such as: Crisis Counsellor, Suicide Prevention Volunteer, and Crisis Responder Volunteer. I have lived and worked in different areas across and outside of the GTA, which as a result has influenced my frameworks to being client centered.

My overall approach is integrative, and I borrow techniques and ideas from different frameworks: Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Bereavement Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Culturally Sensitive and Multicultural Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy.

In a session with me, you can expect an environment that is productive, comfortable, supportive, and collaborative. I find that through collaboration, we can tailor and create a psychotherapeutic space that can be productive, while also giving you a feeling of control and strength in your own narrative. I am mindful of LGBTQIA+ issues, issues affecting marginalized groups, gender-based issues, and cultural issues. I am a big advocate of individuality, self-expression, and self-empowerment, and hope to be someone who can support others as they build on these feelings!

You do not just wake up and BECOME the butterfly. Growth is a PROCESS.
