Unfortunately our clinic is not wheelchair accessible. Our treatment room doors are too narrow, and the washroom is located on our lower level by stairwell.
We apologize for this diservice, and welcome you to join us for virtual therapy if that can be of support to you.
-
Research shows that teletherapy can be just as effective, however this is definitely a personal preference. Some clients enjoy the flexibility, convenience, and privacy of meeting in their room (... as well as being able to show me personal items or updates from time to time). Others will prefer the ritual of attending an in-person session with their therapist.
-
We meet on Zoom or Jane Video. The link is included in your automated appointment reminders.
-
A standard session is scheduled for 50 minutes.
Some therapists offer 80-minute sessions.

It’s important to us that you have the freedom and power to notice the pace that feels beneficial for you. For this purpose, there is no requirement to commit to a day of the week, time of day, or cadence.
Apart from what feels beneficial, we understand that we live in a reality where finances and time can be limited. For all these reasons, the choice is yours.
It may take time to identify what pace feels beneficial. Our therapists can provide guidance during our first consult and early stages of therapy.
-
This is a personal question that depends on your goals for therapy.
Some clients experience a sense of relief in sharing their story after a handful of sessions, however we have observed that true enduring change can be a long-term process.
-
Rates depend on which therapist you choose to work with.
Individual Sessions range from $160 to $190.
Couples’ Sessions range from $180 to $205.
Family Sessions start at $220+We accept credit card (VISA, Mastercard, AMEX), Debit Visa, and Interac e-transfers. During your first session, we will add a valid card to your account.
-
Sliding scale rate & availability varies per therapist.
Our therapists work with a limited number of sliding scale clients. Please let your therapist know during the consult that you are in financial need and they will advise on availability.
-
There is a 24-hour cancellation period. You will be charged 100% of your session rate if you cancel with less than 24-hours notice or do not show up to your session.
A word on the Late-Cancellations Policy:
The spirit of our cancellation policy is to reflect our Online Booking Platform and Advanced Scheduling as a value-added service. The late-cancel & no-show fee is the price of booking your session slot ahead of time.
T&F clients have the convenience to reserve a session time up to 3 months ahead. That space is not able to be booked by another client in need. It is reserved just for you, and is cancellable for free before 24 hours of your appointment. That means it is saved for you for up to 2months and 29days without a fee, as a part of our service offering.
Things happen:
For this reason, T&F will waive the 1st late-cancel or no-show fee as a gesture of good will and to give our clients a chance to acclimatize to our processes - regardless of the reason :) !
After that, the policy is also firm for future occurrences, regardless of the reason.
This policy allows us to apply exceptions and grace equitably across all clients to mitigate the risk of bias or subjective assessment on a case by case basis.
Options:
If this policy is not compatible with your needs or schedule, we recommend booking within 24 hours based on availability. You can also add yourself to the waitlist if your ideal date is full. We will notify you if a space opens up.
If this is the case, email us and let us know. We will place a note on your file and will keep an eye out to help you book.

At this time, the majority of insurers do not have a platform that is facilitative enough for psychotherapy direct billing. After our session, you will be issued a receipt that includes all the necessary information required to submit a claim with your insurer.
If you plan on reimbursing through insurance, please contact your insurer to confirm if your sessions will be covered.
Here are some helpful questions to ask:
Are Registered Psychotherapists covered?
Are Registered Social Workers covered?
How much is covered per session?
How much is covered per year?
When do my coverage maximums reset? Is it by Calendar Year (Jan - Dec) or by the company's fiscal year. If it's the fiscal year, what is the coverage reset date?
Do I need a doctor's referral in order to be covered for my psychotherapy sessions?

There is no blanket answer; it depends on whether your employer/school has chosen to include our services in their benefit package, just as they would have made considerations for orthodontics, teeth whitening, massage therapy etc…
Before our first session, we recommend reaching out to your insurer directly to confirm whether your therapist’s services are eligible for reimbursement. We prefer eliminating any un-welcomed surprises!
