Hello! My name is Rachael (she/her). I am a thought & feeling associate, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) providing in-person and virtual counselling and psychotherapy within Ontario. Growing up as a 1.5-generation immigrant in Toronto, my interest and connection to learning more about our multicultural neighbourhoods started in my early grade school years. This curiosity grew into my fascination with understanding how people grow, inspire and connect. My connection to helping and building spaces for individuals to reflect and grow led me to prioritize mental health and psychotherapy in exploring and writing with creative and professional pursuits.
My experiences within crisis lines, mental health initiatives and public service solidified my passion for supporting individuals in diverse ways. And my wellness journeys in reflective and challenging times helped me map my route to the art and science of psychotherapy. I feel called to provide thoughtful and compassionate space for individuals to share their thoughts and feelings and define their maps toward self-discovery and self-compassion.
When working with clients, I aim to foster a safe, conducive space for clients to express themselves; to feel heard and seen. Choosing our paths can be a daunting, confusing task. I strive to create an environment that allows individuals to reflect and uncover their truths, work towards their goals, challenge themselves and define their preferred futures. Working from an integrative psychotherapy approach, I pull from evidence-based practices, including cognitive behavioural, narrative and mindfulness modalities. As an individual who prioritizes personal reflection through creative and spiritual connection, I incorporate trauma-informed, existential, creative and multicultural lenses relative to the client’s interest. Some of my stylistic choices include bringing realness and authenticity to the therapeutic room with humour and creativity, allowing the therapeutic process to be a comforting space for vulnerability, genuine connection and being human!
