Hello there! My name is Patty. I am a Registered Psychotherapist. I am in love with discovery and honouring how complex the world is. I have a background in Fine Arts, which means that I seek beauty in all of its unexpected forms. My Gestalt Psychotherapy training allowed me to explore my potential as a therapist in many diverse ways. My curiosity about the intersection of wellbeing and cultural identity led me to graduate work in international development, where I researched embodied wellbeing in the LGBTQI+ community in Chile. I am currently a PhD student in Geography, where I am exploring how different communities in Latin America create intimate spaces as a way of resisting oppression.

My therapeutic approach takes into consideration how the environment you live in profoundly shapes how you engage with relationships—whether with lovers, friends, family, or co-workers. I consider the full context of your life and experiences when working with you, knowing that our connections to others are influenced by the world around us. In session I share my observations of what I notice about your way of relating, allowing us to address what’s happening in the moment and encouraging deeper awareness of yourself.

In our time together, we will explore specific recurring themes and patterns in your life. We’ll also focus on particular experiences that shape your present, using experimental therapeutic techniques to unlock deeper insights. I believe that therapy doesn’t always have to be heavy—humor, in fact, can be a powerful tool for healing and self-discovery. You will also notice that I bring my full self to each session. I, too, continually challenge myself to take risks, acknowledge my limitations, and learn from my mistakes. I embody the same openness and vulnerability I encourage in my clients.

I have a special interest in exploring sexuality, alternative relationship dynamics, and the emotions that can hinder our ability to sustain intimacy, such as self-doubt, fear, and anxiety.
